Chainlist

Chainlist

Chainlist is a blockchain-based platform that lists Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) networks and helps you add new networks to your wallet.

When using a wallet on the Ethereum blockchain, you may encounter a situation where  you do not have a particular EVM network added into your wallet. You can add a new network manually, but this process is difficult and you could make a mistake while doing so. That is where Chainlist comes in handy, by allowing you to add a new network to your wallet in a few seconds.

All you need to do is to go to the official website, connect your wallet by clicking the button in the top right corner, search for your desired network, then click on the ‘add’ button. The connection will then be made within your network. Easy, isn’t it?

PROs

  • Free to use
  • Open source
  • Quick and easy

CONs

  • No step-by-step guide on the official website.
When you are using Chainlist, make sure that you are in a safe location,  as you will need to enter your password to connect your wallet.  If you are still not sure how to use Chainlist, I highly recommend you go on Youtube and watch some guides. There are several of them, and it will only take you a few minutes to get the hang of the process.

Always make sure you are on the official site, before getting started.

Analyst opinion

Chainlist provides a great service when it comes to adding new EVM networks to your wallet. It is safe, very easy to use, and you do not have to pay a fee for using it. I think that everybody who likes to use EVM-based networks will love it. Even though using it is easy, it would be good if there was a user guide on the official website. People who are new to crypto could easily get confused, so a step-by-step guide would make it more approachable for a wider audience.
