How to Start

Introduction

Ref Finance is a community-based, multi-purpose DeFi platform built on the NEAR Protocol. It provides decentralized services like staking, yield farming, liquidity providing, and trading. We'll walk you through each step of using the Ref Finance platform, describe its various features, and demonstrate where and how to create LPs, stake $REF, and swap tokens.

How to start?

To start using the Ref Finance protocol, you will need to create a NEAR Wallet software wallet (SW), which you can do on the official website. Then, we advise connecting your NEAR Wallet with the Ledger hardware wallet (HW) for the highest level of protection for the assets.

To start using the services provided by Ref Finance, you will need to send enough $NEAR to your NEAR Wallet. $NEAR will be used to pay NEAR Protocol fees and can also be exchanged for other cryptocurrencies on the Ref Finance platform. Make sure you always have enough $NEAR left in your wallet to pay the fees, because to use Ref Finance, you must always have more than 0.5 $NEAR.  When you have enough, new opportunities will open up in DeFi on Ref Finance, offering you the chance to provide liquidity, farm, stake, or swap individual cryptocurrencies.

You can also buy $NEAR from a centralized exchange (CEX) like Binance, then send it to your NEAR Wallet.

Check out the NEAR Wallet article for more details about the NEAR Wallet.

Where to Put Tokens

Before we create an liquidity pool (LP), we need to know what tokens we want to use for it. An LP consists of 2 different cryptocurrencies, and a stablecoin pool on Ref Finance consists of 3 stablecoins.

Stable_pool

To swap cryptocurrencies, select "Trade." You will then be shown the platform interface on which you can swap cryptocurrencies.

Trade

If you can't find the NEP-141 token you want on the list, you can find its contract address at the site and copy it to the search bar as shown in the image.

Address

Once you have cryptocurrencies ready for composing LPs, proceed to "Pools", where you will find the list of liquidity pools. Then, in "Your Liquidity," the active LPs are also displayed. You can add liquidity by clicking "+ Add Liquidity".

Pools

We can put the created LPs into the farm, for which we will earn additional rewards in $REF and other rewards tokens.

Analyst Opinion

We explained how to get $NEAR into the NEAR Wallet to start working with the Ref Finance platform. Then, we went over its features, and where to find specific functions on the platform. Ref Finance provides options to swap or invest cryptocurrencies. Investing in decentralized finance carries many risks in addition to opportunities and profits. Investments should always be diversified and a thorough analysis of the project (DYOR) should be conducted before putting your money somewhere.
